Admissions & Consults

To consult with a University Physician or refer a patient for admission, please call our toll-free referring physician line at (888) 884-MUDOC (6836) or locally call (573) 882-6985. University of Missouri Health Care On Call staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you. These services include the following:

• Patient admissions at University Hospital, Children's Hospital and Ellis Fischel Cancer Center's inpatient unit
• Telephone consultation with attending physicians 

Appointments & Referrals

Patient Access & Referral Services facilitates patient referrals and appointments. Please call our referring physician line, dedicated exclusively for physicians and other healthcare providers, at (800) 877-7197 or locally call (573) 882-7000, for direct access to more than 60 specialties and nearly 300 attending physicians in 28 locations. Our qualified staff is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and have been trained to put you in touch with the appropriate physician or consultant in the department most suited to your patient's needs. The following information is required when scheduling your patient for an appointment with University Physicians:

• Patient's primary-care provider
• Patient's full name (first name, middle initial and last name)
• Patient's social security number
• Patient's date of birth
• Patients' gender
• Patient's complete address
• Patient's day and evening telephone numbers
• Insurance information
