It's important for children to have good nutrition and their favorite foods, especially when they are in the hospital. MU Children's Hospital's room service is a patient meal program that allows your child to choose what they want to eat, when they want to eat. In order to receive meals, your doctor will first give your child a diet order. Once we have received your child's diet order, you and your child will be given a restaurant-style menu appropriate for your child's diet. When you are ready to eat, you or your child may call food services and place your order with a room service attendant. Meals are available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Guest trays are also available through the room service menu. They can be paid by credit or debit card in advance or by cash upon delivery. Breakfast costs $5 and lunch and dinner cost $8.
Coffee for parents and milk and juices for patients as well as a microwave is available in the Nourishment Room. The adolescent unit has special snacks available that have been selected by teens as their favorites.
